Spring is the perfect excuse to uncork something fresh. These three wine cocktails spotlight crisp, high-quality bottles that won’t break the bank. Easy to make and even easier to enjoy, they’re a great way to elevate your spring sipping—whether you're hosting or relaxing solo.

White Wine Mojito

A crisp twist on the classic mojito—this version swaps out rum for dry white wine, giving you all the citrusy freshness with a lighter, more elegant finish. It’s minty, zesty, and perfect for spring sipping.

Ingredients
Makes 1 serving

  • 4 oz. dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio)
  • 1 oz. simple syrup
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Splash of soda water
  • Lime wedge (for garnish)

Prep
About 10 minutes

  1. Muddle mint leaves and lime juice in a glass.
  2. Add white wine and simple syrup, then stir.
  3. Top with soda water and garnish with a lime wedge and mint sprig.

Make it extra special
Swap in basil-infused simple syrup for a more herbaceous twist that plays beautifully with grassy white wines.

Aperol Spritz

If a spring escape to the Amalfi Coast isn’t in the cards, bring a taste of Italy to your glass instead. Bright, bubbly, and gently bitter, the Aperol Spritz is a warm-weather staple that blends two Italian icons into one refreshing cocktail.

It starts with Aperol—a vibrant aperitif layered with notes of orange peel, herbs, and subtle spice. Add a splash of dry, effervescent Prosecco and just a touch of soda water, and you’ve got an international favorite that’s crisp, balanced, and endlessly sippable.

Simple to make and effortlessly chic, the Aperol Spritz is the perfect bittersweet companion to a cloudless spring afternoon.

Ingredients
Makes 1 serving

  • 2 oz. Aperol
  • 3 oz. Prosecco (or Champagne)
  • 2 oz. soda water
  • Orange slice

Prep
About 5 minutes

  1. Add crushed ice to wine glass
  2. Add Aperol, prosecco, and soda water to glass. Stir, don't shake.
  3. Garnish with an orange slice
  4. Serve and enjoy

Make it extra special
Swap soda water for blood orange sparkling water, and garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary. The rosemary adds an aromatic twist that elevates the cocktail’s herbal notes.

Red Wine Smash

This bold, berry-forward cocktail is a fun, modern riff on a whiskey smash—but made with wine instead. Tart lemon, muddled berries, and light red wine come together in a refreshing drink that’s fruity without being too sweet.

Ingredients

Makes 1 serving

  • 3 oz. light-bodied red wine (like Pinot Noir)
  • 1 oz. lemon juice
  • ½ oz. honey syrup (1:1 honey and water)
  • Handful of blackberries or raspberries (muddled)
  • Crushed ice
  • Lemon wheel (for garnish)

Prep
About 5 minutes

  1. Muddle berries with lemon juice and honey syrup in a glass.
  2. Add red wine and stir well.
  3. Pour over crushed ice and garnish with a lemon wheel.

Make it extra special
Add a dash of bitters or substitute maple syrup for honey to give the drink extra depth.

Sangria

Some say sangria is best sipped at a sunny café in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. We say it’s best enjoyed wherever the mood—and the pitcher—take you.

Fruity, bold, and endlessly customizable, sangria has something for every palate. Want it sweet? Add a little extra brown sugar and load it up with fresh fruit. Prefer it dry? Let the Grenache shine and dial back the brandy. However you pour it, sangria brings big flavor and easy charm to any spring setting.

Ingredients
Makes 16 servings

  • 2 bottles Grenache (dry)
  • 1 bottle rosé (dry)
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 oz. Triple Sec
  • 2 oz. brandy (sweet)
  • 1-2 tbsp brown sugar (to taste)
  • 2 medium apples, cut into cubes
  • 2 medium oranges, cut into half slices (keep peels)

Prep
About 5 minutes

  1. Add all the liquid, (excluding the orage juice), to a large pitcher and stir.
  2. Add orange juice and brown sugar to taste.
  3. If serving immediately, add the fruit to your sangria mixture. If serving later, add fruit before serving.
  4. Chill pitcher.
  5. Fill wine glasses halfway with chopped fruit and ice. Add Sangria. Enjoy!

Make it extra special
Roast the orange slices before adding them to the pitcher. Caramelized citrus adds a warm, slightly smoky depth that complements the wine beautifully.

Rosé Paloma

A delicate spin on the classic Paloma, this version replaces tequila with rosé for a floral, grapefruit-forward cocktail that feels made for spring. It’s light, fizzy, and perfect for brunch or a sunny happy hour.

Ingredients

Makes 1 serving

  • 4 oz. dry rosé
  • 2 oz. fresh grapefruit juice
  • ½ oz. agave syrup or simple syrup
  • Splash of sparkling water
  • Grapefruit slice or rosemary sprig (for garnish)

Prep
About three minutes

  1. Combine rosé, grapefruit juice, and syrup in a shaker with ice.
  2. Shake gently and strain into a glass over fresh ice.
  3. Top with sparkling water and garnish.

Make it extra special
Rim your glass with a mix of sea salt and sugar for a Paloma-style finish with a touch of sparkle.

Frosé

Rosé—the fruity, pink-hued staple of spring and summer—has ruled warm-weather wine lists for over a decade. But its frozen spin-off, frosé, might just steal the spotlight. This icy, blender-ready cocktail takes everything you love about rosé and turns it into a slushy, crowd-pleasing refreshment.

With just a bottle of full-bodied rosé, a handful of ingredients, and a blender, you’ve got the makings of a vibrant drink perfect for brunches, cookouts, or any sun-soaked afternoon. Light, fun, and budget-friendly, it’s the chillest way to toast the season.

Ingredients
Makes 6 servings

  • Bottle of heavy-bodied rosé
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 4 oz. of ice
  • 8 oz. of strawberries (stem removed)
  • 2 ½ oz. of lemon juice

Prep
About 7 hours

  1. Pour rosé into a clean, shallow baking pan. Freeze for about 6 hours. (Note: The rosé won’t completely freeze because of the alcohol. That’s okay!)
  2. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend mixture until smooth.
  3. Freeze pitcher for about 30 minutes until the mixture has a consistency similar to a milkshake.
  4. Chill pitcher.
  5. Serve in a margarita glass with a lime wedge.

Make it extra special
Infuse the sugar with fresh basil or mint a few hours in advance. Strain before mixing for a refreshing, herbal upgrade that pairs beautifully with the strawberries and lemon.
