Our Summary

When choosing your chocolate, do you go for milk, dark, or white? If you enjoy a cup of tea, is it served steaming and sweetened, or iced over lemonade? Nope, these foodie questions aren’t random—Bright Cellars uses its unique, 2-minute tasting quiz to pair new members with their soon-to-be wine essentials.

Bright Cellars is a wine delivery club started by two MIT graduates. Members receive 4 bottles of wine every month, bi-monthly, or quarterly. With each shipment, there are no wildly changing price points, weighing the scales to fit a budget, or surprises: every bottle is priced fairly at $20 ($80 a shipment). To further protect your investment, every wine comes with a “delight guarantee:” love every wine or get a free replacement in the next shipment.

If you’re a wine drinker looking for a data-driven approach to sweet sipping, Bright Cellars could be your wine club of choice.

View Plan

What Makes Bright Cellars Unique?

Bright Cellars shines brightest in its personalization and flexibility:

    • Personalization: The heart and soul of Bright Cellars lies in its Bright Points algorithm, an 18-point wine matching profile assigned to every member. To get started, new members take a 2-minute quiz online. These foodie-focused questions form the foundation of your Bright Points score. Before receiving their first shipment, members can choose from reds, whites, or a mix; as well as choose if they want adventurous wines, a balanced mix, or receive familiar selections. After the first box arrives, members are asked to rate how much they liked each wine to further refine their Bright Points score.
    • Flexibility: If you’re as picky as we are, you want a say in what’s included in your wine shipment. Although every Bright Cellars shipment is tailored to your unique tasting profile, members can swap out wine bottle recommendations by reaching out to the Wine Concierge team. Bright Cellars offers more flexibility with members’ shipping options. Members can receive their four bottles bi-monthly, monthly, or quarterly, and can opt to skip a shipment any time.

Price per Bottle

Every Bright Cellars wine box includes 4 wines priced at $80 total, coming to $20 a bottle before shipping and handling.

Wine Selection Process

Bright Cellars’ members receive their monthly wines based on the Bright Points system. Bright Cellars uses both the new-customer tasting quiz and direct member feedback on tasted wines to make selections that fit each member’s unique palate:

A member can speak with the Wine Concierge team before a new shipment is sent to override any pre-made selections. For example: let’s say your Bright Points profile pegs you as a Zinfandel fanatic, but you really want to try something sweet. After speaking with the Wine Concierge team, you could select a Moscato or dessert wine for your next shipment.

We have a feeling you’re asking the age-old question: who selects my wines? Bright Cellars has a team of in-house sommeliers who taste test small-batch wines from around the world. Italy, Spain, Portugal, South America, and California: you’ll find it all in a Bright Cellars box.

Opening the Box

Your Bright Cellars wine box has arrived, congrats! Let’s talk about what to expect before you take your first sip.

After breaking the tape, the wine box unfolds upwards, similar to a shoebox. Members will find four tasting cards, one for each wine in the box. The tasting cards include everything you’d need to know about your new wines, including variety, region, tasting notes, and suggested food pairings.

After removing the tasting card insert, members will find the first of their two pairs of wines. The Bright Cellars box is designed like a dresser: wines sit inside shelves that can be slid in and out. To access the bottom set of wines, members can simply slide out the bottom shelf and get tasting!

Final Thoughts

If you’re a believer in stats, data points, and algorithms, Bright Cellars could be the wine club for you. The Bright Points system works to measure and track your taste buds, making every selected wine a winner. Thanks to further customization options, such as wine swapping and flexible shipments, members have the freedom to get what they pay for. Oh, and that may be the best benefit of all: with every box priced at $20 a bottle, members don’t have to bargain hunt or plead for affordability.

Bright Cellars is the right club for members who want a consistently priced, data-driven experience.
